Munich artist Christian Frosch hasn't painted a conventional picture in many years. Departing from the subject and a potential statement, he focuses on the painting processes and utensils.

As part of his selected "Painting Research" theme, Frosch conducts a series of tests in search of lost painting techniques and finds the answers in the paint. Pure minimalism is broken up by physical-chemical processes. The results represent a solitary position within painting theory and, despite their scientific rationality, disclose the romantic origins.
